Scope and Contents
From the Series:
On February 10, 1887 the Cattle Sanitary Board was created, consisting of three members, to adopt and enforce quarantine rules and regulations for the control of infectious diseases affecting cattle. To protect the cattle industry the 1891 Legislature expanded the duties of the Board to include brand inspection of all stock leaving the territory or slaughtered within its borders. Later legislatures increased the number of board members to six.
