Attempts of Governor Curry to secure return of Spanish Archives of New Mexico from the Library of Congress, The documents referred to in this report are the official administrative archives of the Spanish and Mexican sovereignties of New Mexico which were transferred to the Library of Congress by act of the Territorial Legislature in 1903 at the insistence of the Secretary of the Interior. The attempt to secure their return in 1909 was unsuccessful. In 1924, they were, however, transferred to the custody of the Museum of New Mexico. In 1960 the Archivist of the United States authorized their transfer to the newly-established State Records Center and Archives. They were microfilmed by this agency in 1967., 1909.
