Scope and Contents

This series contains photocopies of correspondence to or from Walter Ufer. The first section is arranged chronologically. The second section is arranged alphabetically by last name of correspondent. Mary (Monrad Frederiksen) Ufer's and Walter Ufer's correspondence form their own section of the series due to the large volume of photocopies it comprises, with several folders dedicated to Mary's early correspondence with relatives before she met Walter. The final section contains miscellaneous correspondence arranged alphabetically by subject according to Dean Porter's notes. Due to the fact that this series consists of copies of originals that were intellectually organized by the creator, there is some duplication of materials and overlap of dates. Many folders of correspondence are mixed with copies of related documents and handwritten notes by Dean Porter.
