Scope and Content
This collection consists of copies of original materials including correspondence, photographs, biographical information, exhibition materials, research on paintings, articles and clippings, and printed materials from various sources that were collected by Dean A. Porter for research purposes relating to the Taos Society of Artists with particular emphasis on the Victor Higgins and Walter Ufer. Materials relating to Walter Ufer were compiled by Stephen Good and donated to the University of Notre Dame archives by Dean Porter. Original materials relating Victor Higgins were made from originals included in the Joan Higgins Reed papers now held at the New Mexico Museum of Art.
