Scope and Contents note

From the Series: The second series of the Winona Garmhausen Papers is divided into three Sub-Series: Indian Art and Education, Historical Research, and Newspapers, Magazines and Booklets. The first sub-series, Indian Art and Education, consists of reprints of photograph lists, books, essays, circulars, articles, newsletters, catalogues, and programs that reflect research on Indian art education and exhibition between 1901 and 1973. The second sub-series, Historical Research, consists of photocopies of magazines, books, and circulars about the history of women in the Southwest, the founding of Santa Fe and the University of New Mexico, and Congressional Hearings on various issues between 1933 and 1980. The third sub-series, Newspapers, Magazines and Booklets, consists of newspapers, clippings, magazines, reports and booklets about Indian art, artists and education between 1927 and 1994.
