Las Cruces (N.M.) -- Social life

Abstract Donald David Stern served in the United States Air Force during World War II and was a prisoner of war who was held captive by Germans. The papers includes letters from Donald to his family members while serving in the military, which date from the 1940s. Bulk of the material consist of correspondence, personal and military material.

Scope and Content Letter is dated July 25, 1898 and was written by McFie to his cousin May De Mier of Las Cruces. In it, McFie writes about his troop's efforts during the Battle of San Juan Hill and subsequent illness which he describes as malaria.

Content Description Twenty photographs on card mounts of Las Cruces, 1899-1900, possibly taken by Charles Fulton Neale and/or Katharine Meadows Neale, his wife. The photographs depict scenes and people around Las Cruces, New Mexico. The backs of the photographs contain descriptive information handwritten in pencil, presumably by the Neales.

Abstract Founded in 1892 as the Arcadian Club, the Wednesday Literary Club is the second oldest women’s club in New Mexico. Club records include minutes, correspondence, book reviews, annual programs and scrapbooks.

Abstract The William Adair family papers consist of materials chronicling the lives of William T. Adair, his wife, and their five children. The collection is comprised ten series with the majority of it being correspondence among the Adair family and other relatives. The last series contains records of the Adair Company.
