Scope and Content The bulk of the collection deals with correspondence concerning the financial difficulties of Washington Spiegelberg from 1929 to 1942. Many of these letters and telegrams were between his uncle, Frederick Spiegelberg, a New York judge, his cousin George Spiegelberg (Frederick’s son), a New York attorney, and Washington Spiegelberg.
