Scope and Contents This interview with Dr. P.G. Cornish III (1929-1996), a retired general surgeon of Albuquerque, New Mexico, focuses on his father and grandfather, both also surgeons who practiced in Albuquerque. Dr. Cornish, Sr. practiced in Albuquerque from the 1890s until his death in 1932, and Dr. Cornish, Jr. from 1920 until his death in the 1950s.

Scope and Content Collection consists of a typed manuscript on the history of St. Vincent Hospital, in Santa Fe. It was written by Marcus J. Smith, M.D., under a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities during 1978 and 1979. It begins with the arrival of Bishop Jean Baptiste Lamy, who requested that nuns from the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati be sent to Santa Fe to establish a hospital.
