Abstract Black-and-white portraits of New Mexican Hispanic women made to accompany an oral history project.
Scope and Content The collection consists of the original donation (processed February 1981) and an addition. Included in the original donation are manuscripts of plays, 1972-1983, and newspaper clippings, flyers and programs. The addition (processed March 1995) contains a 1987 resume, newspaper clippings, flyers, programs, reviews, letters of support and publications relating to Denise Chavez' work as playwright, poet, author, actress and artist in residence. Abstract This collection contains the papers of Gloria Montoya Chavez, a student, administrator, writer, and advocate for Chicano/a and other minority issues. These papers deal with professional, personal, and political struggle within the University of New Mexico’s Chicano Studies and Chicano Student Services, also known as Hispanic Student Services, and in the surrounding community.

Scope and Content The collection consists of a bound volume, which contains a project history and transcripts for 9 of the 10 interviews. There are 10 audio cassette tapes (60 minute) containing interviews with 8 individuals. There are 6 DVDs, each containing a single interview.
