Scope and Content
In 1982, Kathryn Sargeant and Mary Davis began an archaeological survey of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, an incorporated village in the Albuquerque's North Valley. Part of the project involved speaking with local people and asking for permission to walk across and examine their properties for archaeological sites. Abstract
The collection consists of 591 recordings of folk songs, folklore and local histories collected by Ruben Cobos from 1944-1974 in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado. Also included are 270 additional recordings of selected music - a few from New Mexico, many from Mexico and Latin America, and others from Spain, Europe and the U.S.
