Albert Simms Collection
The collection consists of letters regarding historical preservation in Santa Fe. The correspondence, for the most part, addresses the preservation of the Fort Marcy Officers' Residence (also known as the "Hewett House"). There is one broachure, "The Ceremonial Way" in the collection. Also, there is a letter and description of the Girard Foundation Collection from Alexander Girard.

Association for Preservation of the Old Lamy House Collection
The Association's papers consist of the records of Santa Fe preservationists who unsuccessfully attempted in 1948-49 to save the so-called "Lamy House" and the "Old Santa Fe Trading Post" on Cathedral Place from destruction by the A.T. & S.F. Railroad for expansion of their La Fonda Hotel.

Chris Emmett Collection of Newspapers and Publication Excerpts
Collection consists of Chris Emmett's research materials, 1847-1883. Included are typescript excerpts from New Mexican newspapers (primarily from Santa Fe) and from several publications. Excerpts pertain to various New Mexico persons and events in Santa Fe and various other cities. Included is an index to the excerpts created by Emmett.

This collection is composed of Johnson's correspondence, but also includes: business papers, poetry, newspaper columns, and other documents pertaining to life in New Mexico. Johnson, a politician and newspaper man, was an ardent advocate of preservation of New Mexico's early civilization.

Assorted papers including correspondence, memoranda, misc. documents and notes. Draft manuscripts on various New Mexico personalities and subjects. Eleven donated books integrated into museum collection. Articles and clippings were integrated into the libray's verticle files.

The James J. Webb Correspondence consists of ten hand-written letters discussing business practices and salaries related to Webb's trading business and politics in New Mexico.
James Josiah Webb Memoirs
Collection consists of a typescript of Webb's journal entitled "Memoirs of James J. Webb, Merchant in Santa Fe, New Mexico, 1844." The memoirs describe Webb's business in Santa Fe and his journey across the Santa Fe Trail. Includes materials on two of Webb's business partners, John M. Kingsbury and William S. Messervy.

Josephine Insley Collection
Collection consists of two items: a letter written to her by her aunt Josephine in honor of her birth [transfer 10828]and her Santa Fe High School diploma from 1948 [10830].
Manuel Antonio Chaves Collection
The Manuel Antonio Chaves papers contain correspondence and transcriptions concerning Manuel Antonio Chaves' ancestry and military career. Much of the correspondence is written by his son, Amado Chaves. Marc Simmons assembled the addenda to the Manuel Antonio Chaves Collection. The file contains copies of documentation of Manuel Antonio Chaves' military career between 1861 and 1863.
Most of the papers in this collection are xerox copies.

One ledger book of deed descriptions and hand-drawn maps of property in Santa Fe owned by the New Mexico Central Railroad Co. Includes information on a depot shared with the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad.

The collection consists of taped interviews with prominent people from Santa Fe and New Mexico. All but one tape include transcripts. According to the interviewees, it appears that the oral histories were gathered as part of the Upper Canyon Road Project.Interviewers and project are not identified.
