This collection consists primarily of recordings of traditional Hispanic folk music performed by musicians in Santa Fe, Chama, Tierra Amarilla, and Bernal, New Mexico. Included are a few ragtime, country, Mexican tunes, and other favorites.

Collection contains commercial recordings, dating 1979 to 1994, of popular New Mexican and Mexican music performed by Roberto Marti­nez, his son, Lorenzo, daughter, Debbie, the music group, Los Reyes de Albuquerque, and other Marti­nez family members.

The Shirley Ann Griffin-Martin collection features recordings of African American music and programs from Albuquerque in the 1980s, including popular music, speeches from several Juneteenth events, church gospel songs, sermons and a UNM Black History Month program.

This collection contains correspondence, news clippings, concert programs, and sheet music from the UNM Music Department’s files and includes sheet music and a notebook from Grace Edmister, an early chair of the department, and an article about her. Much of the sheet music is transcribed, traditional Hispanic and Native American songs.
