The bulk of the collection came to the library upon the death of Mrs. Fanny Ritter Bandelier in accordance with the terms of her will. Collection consists of a series of letters from Adolph Bandelier concerning the writing and publication of his novel The Delight Makers. Sixteen of the letters are written by Bandelier to colleagues. The seventeenth is a letter from Scribners and Sons, rejecting Bandelier's manuscript.
