The collection contains the scrapbook of William Jennings Bryan, Jr., who served as U.S. Customs Collector from 1938-1953. The scrapbook includes photos, correspondence and news clippings related to his federal job. Although most of the items deal with the business of the customs service of Los Angeles, they provide information about the home front of World War II. Besides the scrapbook, the collection has loose newspaper clippings, loose photographs, and notes on the Bryan family.
