Abstract
This collection of sound recordings was donated to the John Donald Robb Archive of Southwestern Music by the Music Department of the University of New Mexico. It consisted of three reels of pre-1963 commercial recordings of Native American music from Mexico and the Southwestern United States, which have been reformatted to CD.

Abstract
The John Donald Robb Field Recordings consist of Hispanic, Native American, and Anglo music recorded between 1942-1979 in different parts of New Mexico, the Southwest, Mexico, and Latin America. The collection contains Hispanic folk music such as the alabado, the pastore, the decima, and the corrido. Additionally, Native American chants and dances, as well as Anglo cowboy and frontier ballads are represented in the collection.

The collection consists of advertisements and articles promoting the Mariachi Spectacular; programs, schedules and correspondence; performers biographies; and photographs of events, including broadcast videotapes. Texts of songs and full and partial scores of music performed are also a part of the collection. Audio and video tapes were added to the collection in August 2008.
