Collection holds three folders of materials relating to the life and family history of Daniel Angus Macpherson Jr. The collection holds notes, bank statements, periodicals, publications, and photographs from Macpherson Jr’s life in Hawaii from 1941-1944 in the United States Naval Reserves, his career as a lawyer before and after World War II, as well as a small cache of items documenting charitable works, publications upon his retirement and items from other social functions.

This collection contains materials written by and about Ernie Pyle, an American journalist who was most famous for his World War II columns from the 1940s. The collection also covers his early days as the “Roving Reporter,” his life in Albuquerque and overseas, and his eventual death in Ie Shima, Japan in 1948. There is also much information on various tributes and memorials which occurred after his death, including the opening of the Ernie Pyle Memorial Library in Albuquerque, NM.

A collection of materials gifted from Linda Hetzel McGarr holds materials relating to the life of Raymond Peter Hetzel and his time as a Cooking Instructor for the Civilian Conservation Corps in New Mexico from 1935-1040. The collection holds correspondence, official CCC documents and certificates, training materials, news clippings, scrapbook, and published cooking manuals.
