1 Box (William Steele Dean was a long time resident of Albuquerque. In addition to being the organist at the KiMo theater in the 1920s, he was an avid movie and Western fiction fan. A sufferer of tuberculosis, he spend much of his time corresponding with artists and writers. Steele left much of his lifelong collection to The Public Library upon his death. Some of the correspondence was kept in scrapbooks, which make up this collection. Steele's photographic collection, numbering in the 1000s, is housed at the Albuquerque Museum.) : The majority of this collection was once glued to black scrapbook paper. Some still is, and some has been removed leaving just a black border of the paper. The collection is in fair to poor condition, and should be handled with great care. ; Box: 5 in x 15.5 in
