Abstract

The collection contains six scrapbooks devoted to reviews and correspondence related to books written or edited by T. M. Pearce. T. M. (Thomas Matthews) Pearce (1902-1986) was a professor at the University of New Mexico from 1939-1964 and an author and editor. Perhaps best known for New Mexico Place Names (1965), he also wrote biographies of Mary Austin, Oliver La Farge, and Alice Corbin Henderson. He edited several anthologies and served as the first editor for the New Mexico Quarterly from 1930-1939.
