History of Presbyterian Church and Menaul School in Albuquerque by Carolyn Atkins; Genealogy Club; Carolyn Atkins is the director of the Presbyterian Historical Library at time of recording; The Presbyterian Historical Library at Menaul School preserves the history of the Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque. Menaul School is a Presbyterian school. Four generation students at the time of this recording. Presbyterian school in Socorro in 1860. 1866 Santa Fe Presbyterian minister David McFarland noticed no schools for children and started the first Presbyterian school in the state later called Alison James and stayed open until 1959. 1881- Indian Beuro and the US government Menaul School. Later 1896 opened to Spanish boys and is still operating. Both these would feed students through the University. Menaul Historical Library has never had a paid position, all volunteers. "They were going to American-size them, and Christian-size them". Menaul School is a bilingual school. The Menaul Historical Library has a bond w the Genealogy Society because they do much of the same work as each other. Genealogy; MP3 Converted, February 14, 1990
