Buried Treasure in New Mexico by Howard Bryan; Greater Albuquerque Library Association; Recorded at Eldorado High School. J. Frank Dobie- inspiration for many peoples' passion for buried treasure. Lost Adam's Diggings- J. Frank Dobbie brought it to the general public- 1864 in Arizona, a Native American leads settlers to west New Mexico to "canyon of gold"; Apache Natives raid the camp- this man Adams was the only to survive but could never find that gold again. Still people looking for this Adams treasure. Bob Lewis is mentioned in Dobie's book, helped Adams try to find them earlier- Bryan got to know Lewis, but Lewis took a while to open up about the Lost Adams Diggings. Lewis says that Adams hasn't told the whole story- Adams stole the gold and was on the run when attacked by Native Americans. Rather than saying I hid the gold, he has to say he lost it. People are still looking for the Adams gold at the time of the recording. Potential buried treasure on White Sands Missile Range. Friends/Foundation; MP3 Converted, January 14, 1974
