Maria the Potter: Making and Baking her pottery by Lillian Harbey ; Presented as slides; Dr. Fredericin Douglas- Denver Museum- directed the librarians on their tour to the Southwest in 1935. Went to Don Ildefonso Mela Roybal, 1954 signed "Maria and Sartsa" pottery San Ildafonso. Pottery on grill, then metal oven then crown dung, then pulverized cow dung, oven pottery. Shoveled ashes onto the baring pottery. Pots belonged to Maurine Ghamer who has an extensive collection of Maria's work. At that time was at the head of museum. The "New Maria Pottery" with the charcoal grey iridesant finish. Maria had four sons. Albuquerque Historical Society; MP3 Converted, November 20, 1969
