Biographical / Historical
History:
Created in 1994 as an assembled collection containing manuscripts relating to Chaco Canyon. Manuscripts and reports relating to specific Chaco Center projects that were originally cataloged under this accession have been recataloged under the appropriate project accession number. A wide variety of items acquired by donation and purchase from a variety of sources became part of the manuscript collection, including published books, photocopied articles, etc.
In 2010, 49 published books were removed from the Manuscript Collection and incorporated into a non-museum property reference collection. Most of the items were donated to the Chaco Archive over the past twenty years.
