Chaco Culture National Historical Park held an old timers reunion at the Park from October 5th through October 7th, 1990. The reunion was to "honor all personnel involved with Chaco Canyon National Monument during the last sixty years such as ruins stabilization crews, maintenance employees, archaeologists, traders, Civilian Conservation Corp., and National Park Service personnel." One of the activities which took place at the reunion was the Chaco Canyon Old Timers Reunion Oral History Project. The goal of the Project was to record old timers' recollections of Chaco Canyon in the "early" days. The project was adversely affected by a last minute change in the program agenda, as well as inclement weather and unfavorable site conditions. The Reunion staff also handled the duplication of slides and photographs from the 1950s, in particular the Charles Wyatt slide collection, and the Marjorie Mirabel and Evon Z Vogt photograph collection. These items were on temporary loan to Chaco Canyon National Park during the reunion, and some of the materials were later donated to the park on a permanent basis.
