This series is arranged by conference or event in chronological order, and pertains to the recording of sessions at the Chaco Synthesis Project conferences and associated events. Each of the six conferences and associated events were recorded on analog audio cassette tapes and VHS video tapes. The recordings document the presentations by participants, commentary, and extensive discussions on topics surrounding Chaco organization of production, society, politics, ecology, economy, communities, architecture, and an attempt at a synthesis of the material.

An overview of the participants, presentations, and discussions is available in the proceedings reports, and in the daily agenda. For this panel discussion there were approximately twenty people in the room over two days (February 25-26) they presented and discussed their interpretation and perspectives on ancient Chacoan sites. The NPS representatives only participated in the discussion, no presentations were made by staff.
