Scope and Contents

From the Series: This series is arranged by conference or event in chronological order, and pertains to the recording of sessions at the Chaco Synthesis Project conferences and associated events. Each of the six conferences and associated events were recorded on analog audio cassette tapes and VHS video tapes. The recordings document the presentations by participants, commentary, and extensive discussions on topics surrounding Chaco organization of production, society, politics, ecology, economy, communities, architecture, and an attempt at a synthesis of the material.

General

An overview of the participants, presentations, and discussions is available in the proceedings reports for each conference, as well as a daily agenda. For this conference there were approximately twenty people in the room over three days (September 25-27), in which they discussed Chaco as a system, communities, great houses, the need to create a database where questions could be evaluated regarding the Chaco World, and how to move the discussion into the future. The final daywas dedicated to a public session. These recordings are in some parts inaudible, the recordings are muffled. Tape 5 and 6 are audible.
