This series is arranged by conference or event in chronological order, and pertains to the recording of sessions at the Chaco Synthesis Project conferences and associated events. Each of the six conferences and associated events were recorded on analog audio cassette tapes and VHS video tapes. The recordings document the presentations by participants, commentary, and extensive discussions on topics surrounding Chaco organization of production, society, politics, ecology, economy, communities, architecture, and an attempt at a synthesis of the material.

An overview of the participants, presentations, and discussions is available in the proceedings reports for each conference, as well as a daily agenda. For this conference there were approximately eleven people in the room over two days (May 4-5), in which they discussed Chaco societal organization, including leadership and models of social organization. Of note: Tape 1 is blank and did not record the morning session of May 4th.
