Scope and Contents

__This series consists of four subseries documenting the legislative history, Interagency Management Group (IMG) proceedings and functions, Navajo Nation-NPS cooperative agreements, and the financial reporting and budget records stemming from the agreement. The records consists of congressional legislation, meeting agendas and minutes, agreements, correspondence, plans, account statements, expenditure reports, and funding requests.

__This series documents the legislative background of the Chaco Protection Sites Program (CPSP) leading up to and including the Chaco Outliers Protection Act of 1995. In 1992, a Navajo Nation CPSP Program Manager became part of the Interagency Management Group, as approxiamtely 50% of the sites are on Navajo Nation land. With congressional approval in the same year, Navajo Nation was mandated to carry out CPSP work, with program funding administered by the National Park Service-Chaco Culture NHP by means of a cooperative agreement.
