Consists of Latin American healthcare publications. The collection dates 1981-2013. These publications help document published work about social medicine and human rights in Latin America. The collection includes publications from Cuba, Chile, Uruguay, and Argentina.

Biographical / Historical

These publications were donated to HSLIC by Dr. Howard Waitzkin as part of the Latin American Social Medicine database. Consisting of two phases, the project ran from 2000-2009 and was funded by the National Library of Medicine of the U. S. National Institutes of Health through the Health Sciences Center of the University of New Mexico (HSC-UNM). The resulting database includes over 1100 abastracts of books, book chapters, and journal articles in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
