Scope and Contents The letters illustrate the formation and continuation of the relationship between Frieda Lawrence and the Roberts. Warren was researching/writing about DHL, while also attempting to broker a deal for the University of Texas to acquire Lawrence's manuscripts. The letters provide insight into Frieda's comtemplation about the dispensation of DHL materials, as well as her take on "Lawrence activity" going on at the time.

Brett's financial situation permeates the conversation as does her frustration doing business with the University of Texas, and her appreciation for Roberts' assistance as a liaison. Brett also opines about publications about Lawrence, her reticience toward public speaking, and her feelings about politicians, communism, and dictators.

Scope and Contents Letters focus on Brett's art work and financial worries.Throughout the correspondence, Brett keeps trying to sell a protrait that she made of DHL. She also talks about her gallery, local characters, visitors, and the weather.
