Scope and Contents The manuscript contains a holographic title page, written in red pencil and dated 1950. The rest of this manuscript is a carbon copy typescript, including a 9 page synopsis of the projected novel, dated March 25, 1951; 2 pages (introduction?), followed by chapter one, through page 80. A five page excerpt, "The Billboard Party" is inserted after page 80, and before page 106. The remainder of the manuscript is paginated 106-181. Pages 81 through 105 appear to be missing.
