Scope and Contents These are records of checks written by Gross, Kelly &Co. for various purposes--i.e., to pay growers for wool, pelts or hides or to pay Eastern suppliers. The checks were not all written on a single consecutive numbering system--because there is some over-lapping of dates between the volumes. A typical format, however, includes: Date, Payable To, Account Of. Check Number, and Amount.
