This recording was apparently made by Cobos taping from his televison, and seems to be Part I of an ABC Legends TV program, music, narration, about the Aztecs before the time of the Spanish conquistador Hernan Cortes and his men coming to Mexico in 1519, legend of Quezacoatl, Montezuma, deals with Spanish decision to oppose human sacrifice, cannibalism, teaching of Christianity, Native Americans subjects of the Aztec empire becoming allies of the Spanish, etc., Part II is missing. Scope and Content From the Collection: The collection consists of 591 recordings of folk songs, folklore and local histories collected by Ruben Cobos from 1944-1974 in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado. Also included in the collection are about 270 additional recordings of selected music - a few from New Mexico, many from Mexico and Latin America, and others from Spain, Europe and the U.S. The recordings vary in quality between good, fair, and poor.
