Scope and Contents

The collection consists of materials created and collected by Mary Steele pertaining to sexual abuse and, in particular, clergy sexual abuse; much of this material relates to clergy abuse within the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The collection comprises materials from victim advocacy groups including newsletters and mailings (among these are a number of issues of the “Missing Link”, published by advocacy group The Linkup); communications from the Archdiocese of Santa Fe; poetry and other writings by Mary Steele; correspondence; newspaper clippings; research materials including articles and book reviews; and a copy of All Shall Be Well, a book by Mary Steele documenting her experiences as a survivor of abuse.

Box 3 currently contains twenty books relating to clergy sexual abuse that will be separated from the manuscript collection and catalogued in the general CSWR collection. An inventory of these books is available in Box 1 of the collection.

The collection is currently unprocessed; please consult with CSWR reference staff for access and any questions.
