Scope and Contents

The collection consists of a photograph album of places in New Mexico including Silver City, Pinos Altos, Center City, Fort Bayard, Santa Rita, Albuquerque, Gila area, Continental Divide. 2 post cards of Fort Bayard are also included. Photographs depict buildings, landscapes, street scenes, and people.

Examples of photos include:

  • Silver City - railroad station, San Vicente Hotel, "Chihuahua" (Mexican section), Boulware St., Dr. Bullock residence and vicinity, burro trains, people, stage coach.
  • Ft. Bayard - invalid tents

    Biographical Information

    Emmeline Creighton (1861-1928) was the wife of George W. Creighton (1956-1917, a wealthy superintendent for the Pennsylvania Railroad. Emmeline took the photographs in this photo album.
