Scope and Contents

The Jane Snow Collection offers a glimpse into the career of Jane Snow, University of New Mexico Opera director, during her tenure in the 1950s and 1960s. This collection boasts an extensive array of historical artifacts, including newspaper clippings and press releases chronicling the opera and musical productions curated by Jane Snow. It also features a selection of musical scores authored by J.D. Robb, as well as numerous photographs and negatives documenting the opera productions. The collection is grouped into two distinct categories: manuscripts and photographs, each arranged in chronological order. There is also an oversized folder of posters of UNM operas.

Jane Snow was born May 29, 1914 and died July 1, 2013 at the age of 99. Jane Snow was a voice and opera teacher at the University of New Mexico.
