Biographical / Historical
A photo album from Ursula Casuse-Carrillo, the younger sister of Larry Casuse who was a former University of New Mexico student from 1971-73 and activist who fought against colonial violence perpetrated on Native American people. He was a member of the UNM Kiva Club and organized against the exploitation of Native peoples in his home of Gallup, NM and against the instatement of then Gallup Mayor, Emmett Garcia, as a UNM Regent. In March 1973, Larry Casuse was killed by Gallup police after he and Robert Nakaidinae kidnapped Garcia from Gallup City Hall.
