Biographical / Historical
Maria Eva Duarte was born 17 May 1919 in Los Toldos, Argentina. In the 1930s Eva Duarte moved Buenos Aires to advance her acting career. She met Juan Perón in the early 1940s and they married in 1945. Supporting her President husband and her own social and political causes, Eva Perón became a powerful politician and social activist. She died in 1952. Upon her death she rose to a cult figure and became a part of Argentian and international popular culture.
