Scope and Contents

The collection contains publicity materials for gallery shows from 1999-2020. Included are press releases, newsletters, and promotional postcards. There are also includes some photographs from gallery. The collection is arranged in chronological order.

Biographical / Historical

The Jonathan Abrams MD Art Gallery brings contemporary New Mexican artwork to patients and staff. Founded in 1991, and officially designated by the UNM Board of Regents in 2008, the gallery offers New Mexico artists a place to display their artwork, and to provide a venue at UNM Health Sciences Center for patients, visitors, students, and staff to view contemporary art. The gallery is a collaborative partnership between The UNM Art Museum and the generous support of Fay Pfaelzer Abrams. The gallery is located on the fifth floor of the Ambulatory Care Center.

Abstract

The Abrams Art Gallery was founded in 1991, and officially designated by the UNM Board of Regents in 2008, to offer New Mexico artists a place to display their artwork, and to provide a venue at The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center for patients, visitors, students, and staff to view contemporary art.
