Historical Information

Choque Cultural gallery was founded in 2003 by Baixo Ribeiro, Mariana Martins, and Eduardo Saretta, focusing on professional development for artists and teachers, and art education for youth. It became an international reference in street and urban art, as well as in other new, contemporary forms. The gallery has won recognition both locally and globally for its mix of young talent alongside more recognized artists. It became a nonprofit in 2012.
