Scope and Content Note
The Faculty Women's Club records span the years 1927 to 1981, with the bulk of the items from the mid-1960s through 1981. There are administrative and founding documents including the constitution and by-laws. Most of the collection relates to activities and events conducted by the group. There are also three scrapbooks with clippings and photographs of events and officers.

Historical Note
The UNM Faculty Women's Club was formed on January 26, 1927 in order "to promote social life and general culture." Over the years, the club planned and participated in a wide variety of programs and activities. Some of these activities included faculty wives orientations, student scholarship fundraisers, picnics, coffees, lectures, and literary discussion groups. The club suspended operations in 1981.
