Historical Note
KGGM-TV, channel 13 in Albuquerque, New Mexico began transmitting in 1953. It was then owned by the Hebenstreit family’s New Mexico Broadcasting Company. The television station has since been sold to Lee Enterprises and now broadcasts under the call letters KRQE. In 1989, it aired 100 30-second-long segments of interviews with UNM alumni in honor of the University’s Centennial Anniversary.
