History

The Cobb's Studio operated in Albuquerque, New Mexico from 1885 to 1942. The studio was established by William Henry Cobb, who settled in Albuquerque in 1885 and purchased the photographic studio of W. Cal Brown. In 1891, Cobb married Eddie Ross, daughter of Territorial Governor Edmund G. Ross. A graduate in business administration at the University of Kansas, Eddie Ross Cobb had served as secretary to her father during his term in office as Governor of New Mexico. Besides managing the studio's business, she was also a photographer. After William Henry Cobb's death in 1909, Mrs. Cobb and a daughter, Daphne, continued to operate the studio until 1942.
