Scope and Content

Collection consists of card-mounted photographs of mining subjects in Mexico from circa 1890-1895, on printing-out paper. Includes views of mine sites of San Augustin, La Luz and Portrero in mountain valleys, miner beside tin ingots at Pittsburg and Mexican Tin Mining Co., and a campsite there, stage coach and mine in Durango, interior of a furniture making shop in Zacatecas, mining sites in Sonora (La Barranca, La Dura, Minas Prietas and Trinidad). Also includes Teatro Juarez, a Neo-Classical building in Guanajuato, and cityscape showing decorative ironwork portals.
