Scope and Content
Black & white photographs of Spanish Colonial art: sculpture, religious architecture, and painting. The smaller prints include 35 mm negatives of Puerto Rican Santos. Others images were made in Mexico, Central, and South America and used in the book, Baroque and Rococco in Latin America by Pál Kelemen. Elisabeth Zulauf Kelemen took the photographs.

Biography
Pál Kelemen was born April 24, 1894 in Budapest, Hungary. He was educated in Budapest, Berlin and other European universities in art history. He died February 15, 1993.
Elisabeth Zulauf Kelemen was born in Jefferson, Indiana on December 31, 1898. She and her parents moved to Europe where she continued her music studies. In 1930 Elisabeth met Pál Kelemen. After two years they married. In 1938 they moved to New York City and then to Connecticut. They took field survey trips to Mexico, Central America, South American and the American Southwest. Pál took notes, gave lectures and published books using many of Elisabeth's photographs taken during these trips. Elisabeth died on June 6, 1997.
