Scope and Content
The leather bound album, containing 91 photographs on 41 pages with watercolor decoration, was presented to Gaona at his retirement and highlights his bullfighting career. The album entitled "Homenaje a Rodolfo Ganoa," also commemorates his career. A broadside, "Corrido de Rodolfo Gaona y Otros Toreros" is included in the collection as well.

Biographical Information
Rodolfo Gaona Jiménez (1888-1975), born in Guanajuato City, Mexico, is considered one of the great matadors of the 20th century. He began his bullfighting career in 1905 and retired in 1924. He crafted bullfighting techniques that are still used, especially the "Gaonera" in which the torero runs towards the bull with the red cape behind their body. Rodolfo Gaona Jiménez died in Mexico City on May 20, 1975.

Abstract
