Scope and Content
Photographs of infants and children, presumably clients of the Santa Fe Maternal & Child Health Care Center. Includes snapshots of Hispanic- American children, some outdoors in front of adobe buildings; a severely malnourished infant, and a healthy infant with an unidentified woman (1946), probably taken at the Center. Prints are 25 x 20 cm. (10 x 8 in.) or smaller.

History
Privately funded health center founded in 1936 as the Santa Fe Maternal Health Center to provide free and low cost pre- and postnatal maternal care and infant care and to distribute birth control information to low income families. The name was later changed to Santa Fe Maternal and Child Health Center.
