Biography
Born in Kansas City, Mo. in 1904. Educated at the University of Missouri, Columbia University and the University of New Mexico. Mystery writer and critic. Hughes has also published poetry and non-fiction and is known in New Mexico for her history of the first fifty years of the University of New Mexico, Pueblo on the Mesa.
