Organizational Information
The Alliance for Innovation in Science and Technology Information (AISTI), previously called the Library Services Alliance of New Mexico, was a consortium of libraries, laboratories, universities and research institutions whose mission was “to acquire science and technology information and to create collaborative tool sets exploiting these to the best advantage for researchers.” Members included Los Alamos National Laboratory Research Library, NASA Scientific and Technical Information Program, New Mexico State University Library, Sandia National Laboratories Technical Library, Santa Fe Institute Library, University of New Mexico Centennial Sciences and Engineering Library, and University of New Mexico Health Sciences Library and Information Center. There were also collaborative and associate members.
AISTI’s key initiatives included emerging research summits, an E-print server to house information generated at AISTI institutions; annual mini-conferences; and presentations to promote the idea of open access to scholarship.
