Scope and Content

The first residents to be interviewed were Clara Martinez and Maria Martinez. They discuss memories of their youth,family history, education at Longfellow Elementary work, activism, community development and urban renewal.

Contains six CDs and one thumb-drive for use only in the CSWR Anderson Reading room.

Biography / History

This interview project was initiated in 2017 by Gary Garvin to collect stories from Martineztown neighbors. Bea Lopez and Christina Miles conducted the interviews and Steve Mills edited the recordings.
