Biographical Information

Walter Dryja graduated from Ohio State University in 1941. He served with the U. S. Army from 1941-1946 in Panama and the Mediterranean Theater of Operations. Dryja was employed with General Electric as Product Engineer in 1946. In 1947, he began employment with the Panama Canal Zone Company as a Mechanical Engineer in the Locks Division. A series of promotions led to his becoming Assistant Marine Director in 1966, with responsibility for management and direction of engineering projects relating to modernization of its operating systems.
